DIY recap from my own wedding!

Aug 1, 2009

Throughout this week, I realized that while I had shared lots of DIY prep for my own wedding on CB {almost a YEAR ago ... oh how time flies!!!} ... I never actually shared the end results! So I thought ... well, what better way to wrap up DIY Week? Hope you enjoy and just follow the links for the tutorials {and a glimpse into my past as a bride-to-be}! ;o)

I fell in love with the idea of wedding wands after seeing them in Southern Weddings so I went to town creating the wands as well as signage. You can learn how to make your own wands here and if you'd like signage like mine, e-mail me or visit my calligraphy shop! I'd love to create some for you! ;o)

While these welcome baskets took me far too many late-nights to assemble, the crazy number of compliments I received well made up for the effort. Click here and here to see a few of the special goodies we included.

These moss-covered letters were soooo easy to make and I love how they look in this photo. My mother-in-law took them down after the ceremony and hung them on the backs of J+I's chairs for the reception dinner. It was such a sweet idea!

These salt-water taffy jars started out as an addition to our welcome baskets but ended up being our favors! We placed them on heirloom silver platters and trays.

We placed our programs on another of my Mom's many beautiful silver trays and I think they were one of my favorite projects.

This last one isn't really a DIY {a quarter-DIY at most} but I wanted to share it, anyway. My Mom and I found 2 pairs of antique silver cufflinks at a local boutique and I later had them engraved with Jeff's monogram. I love it when he wears them now because it always reminds me of our wedding day.

Spend the afternoon going through all of CB's DIY archives right here. Or see more from my wedding here.
